Compelling Copywriting for Retreat Centers
Rejuvenating your online presence so you can get back to the work you love.
Welcome, Friend!
First thing first: take a deep breath.
Yep. You too. Sure, it's your mission to invite others to rest, but even you need a reminder to breathe.
With all you do to help relieve people of their burdens, sometimes you need help carrying your own…
And it’s no wonder!
The last few years have made it difficult to run your retreat center:
Money is tight, causing staff to wear even more hats than usual
Your marketing approach isn't working as well as it used to and you think it’s time to change things up
It’s getting harder to find good staff who understand the mission
Bringing in fresh revenue requires more energy
To top it off, you don’t know how long you are going to be able to keep doing this work. It's time to think about succession planning, but you're not sure who will take the baton from you.
What you need now is for the next generation to catch the vision…
Ah yes, the vision
Remember your vision? I’m not talking about the organizational vision statement or anything like that.
I’m talking about how you thought life would look when running a retreat center.
I bet it looked more like being on a retreat yourself!
Enjoying quiet moments alone on the grounds
Warmly welcoming guests at their arrival
Connecting with program participants
Being present to the wonders—big and small—that happen every day
But how?!
How are you supposed to live out that personal vision when you have to:
Wear all the hats 🤹🏽
Market 📣
Recruit 🫱🏻🫲🏽
Fundraise 💰
Plan for the future 📊
Remain present for guests today… 🤗
All while avoiding burnout?!🔋
Well, you’re NOT supposed to. At least, not alone.
That’s where copywriting comes in
Copywriting is about making your marketing communications more powerful.
A good piece of copy gets a bigger audience to see, understand, and get on board with your message.
To get an idea of how that applies to you, here are some questions you can ponder:
Is your website readable for people and optimized for search engines?
How are you regularly communicating with your customer base?
Are you participating in larger conversations, getting your name in front of potential customers, staff, and donors?
I’m here to help
You don’t have to do it alone, and you don’t even have to hire another staff member—they’re expensive, I know.
When you contract with me as your copywriter, you can offload the responsibility of creating strategic online communications for a fraction of the cost of hiring and maintaining a staff person skilled at marketing retreats.
Sounds great, right?
Picture yourself in a place where the burden is lifted and you are living out the dream you had for yourself when you began this adventure.
Rest easy, knowing the people who are looking for your services can find you.
Take time to enjoy your guests today, because someone else is working behind the scenes to keep your connection with past and future guests healthy.
Imagine taking your own retreat!
Let’s see what we can do together…

Copywriting—in my mind—works like twinkle lights. I love twinkle lights. They are simple, not special by themselves, but they make you look at whatever they light up.
In this work, I use my words to show off the people and organizations that I care about. To say “Hey, look over here! Isn’t this amazing?!” This is what I get to do for you.
Why retreat centers? Well, you could say it’s in my blood. Some of my best memories come from my time at retreat centers. I have lived at, attended, and worked for many. My belief in the importance of retreat centers is so strong, that I’ve contemplated starting my own! That’s part of what led me to get my Master of Arts in Spiritual Formation.
But now, rather than start my own, I’m putting my energy toward helping existing centers thrive into the future. In promoting your retreats, I get to combine my life experiences and my education to highlight, support, and strengthen the work that you are already doing. I so look forward to working with you.
